"Heavy Sigh" (unreleased song)
Hello! I’m currently on a little regional tour around the south, with shows this past weekend in Chattanooga, Atlanta, and Florence, AL. This coming weekend I have shows in Columbia, MO and St. Louis. Hopefully I’ll be able to round everything off with a show here in Memphis where I’m based, but nothing confirmed quite yet. Anyway, because of this, I haven’t had as much time to be on here posting as frequently but I still have plenty of more articles coming, and more songs to share as well. Which leads me to todays offering…
I wrote “Heavy Sigh” just a few months ago and it’s been saved in my phone with a star next to it due to my high levels of enjoyment from it. I almost certainly know I will release this one at some point…maybe even later this year….but either way, I figured I’d show you a preview of its origin.
I think it spawned out of frustration of not being able to further another artistic project I’m working on due to not being able to get a response from a collaborator of mine…and it ended up turning into a much bigger idea of having little faith in the direction the world is heading in, and the high volume of heavy sigh’s I find myself letting out on a daily basis as a result of the unfathomable nature of current events.
I was going for a Jose Gonzalez vibe with this one for sure, and I really love it. Hope you enjoy it too, and as always thank you for listening and for being here!
Heavy sigh Out of breath, oh what a messy time Can't rely On anybodies word, or a reply Day and night I let out a loss of faith with my heavy sigh Lose your mind Trying to comprehend the end in sight Truth or lies? It barely even matters most the time Day and night I try my best to feel alright With a heavy sigh Yours or mine? Let the war machine repeat the fight Desensitized Seeing way too much, but never cry Day and night I don't know what's next except for my heavy sigh
